The Overhead Door Company of Tampa Bay™ has been serving the Tampa Bay area for over 67 years. We are a family owned business and a “Red Ribbon” distributor of Overhead Door products. We provide a full-line of residential garage doors, commercial overhead doors and roll up doors as well as industrial doors.

1921
Clarence Gilbert Johnson worked towards patent planning for the original overhead door.
1923
Johnson and his wife mounted an upward lifting garage door on a Model T Ford truck and attended an automobile show to market the product.
1924
Production of garage doors began in Hartford City, Indiana. Overhead Door™ begins the process of expanding to local distributors nationwide.
1938
Overhead Door™ Company of Florida & Georgia was co-operated in two locations; Atlanta, GA & Tampa, FL. This was the first garage door company to serve the Tampa area.
1950
As millions of soldiers returned from war, new home developments skyrocket. Americans recognized the advantages of attached garages and sectional garage doors.
1960
Overhead Door Company of Tampa Bay™ moves to N. West Shore Blvd.
1975
As Overhead Door Company of Tampa Bay™ continued to grow, the team moved to a bigger location on N. Manhattan Ave.
1992
Bob Briesacher was awarded the Tampa area distributorship. 5134 West Idlewild Rd.
1994
Bob and his staff noticed the need for bigger warehouse space and moved to new location. 4908 Savarese Circle
1995
Overhead Door Company of Tampa Bay™ Bob Briesacher is one of the Founding Members of the International Door Association.
1998
Overhead Door Company of Tampa Bay™ opens it’s first showroom. This allowed customers to visit the location and see product samples prior to installation.
2002
Bob, planning for the future, purchased property to begin construction on a new custom warehouse and office space. The design process was a collaborative effort by the Overhead Door Company of Tampa Bay™ team.
2004
The Overhead Door Company of Tampa Bay™ team welcomed the moved to Ann Ballard Rd. The new 20,000 sq. ft. building was designed to expand warehouse capabilities to meet the needs of customers.
2014
Overhead Door Company of Tampa Bay™ was a finalist for the 21-50 Employees Category through the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business of the Year Awards.
2018
Bob Briesacher celebrated 26 years of owning and operating Overhead Door Company of Tampa Bay™.
